Picto have been appointed to develop the wayfinding for the £10 million Spanish City renovation project,

Working in collaboration with ADP Architects and Robertson Construction, the scope of work includes both internal and external signage. We are also working with a local illustrator on some specialist elements.

Spanish City opened in 1910 as a permanent funfair on the North East coast. Regarded as a classic piece of seaside pleasure architecture, the Grade II Listed building is undergoing extensive restoration and renovation. It is due to re-open its doors later this year as a leisure, wedding and conference venue.

The Heritage Lottery funded project is a key component in the North Tyneside Council strategy for the regeneration of Whitley Bay.
