Picto have been working with Active Northumberland to develop the signage for the first phase of a £5m project to rejuvenate and modernise Blyth Sports Centre.
The first phase of the works encompasses a full refurbishment of the swimming pools and wet changing area. This includes all new finishes and lighting and a new energy efficient, environmentally friendly system to clean and heat the water.
Picto were approached last Autumn to develop a scheme to sit with the Active Northumberland brand. The signage needed to be able to withstand the demands of a busy public building and the challenges of chlorine. Design work has included the reworking of pool specific statutory pictograms including no diving and no access for swimmers with arm bands.
The pool and new changing area is due to re-open to the public on 5th February.
