After searching for a wayfinding specialist, Preston Park Museum contacted Picto earlier this year. We identified the need to develop a new signage scheme that would be clear and easily visible among their many interpretation displays.
Preston Park Museum is surrounded by a 100-acre public park in Teesside. The museum admission gives visitors access to the galleries of Preston Hall, a Victorian street, the park grounds and a walled kitchen garden and orchard. The museum site presents several challenges for visitors who want to find their way around the different available areas.
The museum is a listed building and has limited available space for signage. We identified critical locations within the two-storeys for effective signposting and have just completed the first phase of the project installing new signage which ties in with the museum’s new branding.
